Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
